The American Optometric Association recommends that by age 3, children should have their eyes examined so that eye problems can be detected and treated early. Dr. Dao uses special techniques so that children do not need to know numbers or letters to be accurately tested.

Computer users must focus their eyes at a fixed distance for extended periods of time and view letters that have lots of glare and reflections. In addition, eyeglass prescriptions for general use are not adequate for video display terminal use. Dr. Dao prescribes specific lens powers, tints, and coatings for computer use.
